CES® (Consumer Electronics Show) is the largest and most influential technology event on the planet. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM, it features eminent speakers from major global media, retail, and tech innovation companies, including Verizon, Target, Reuters, Twitter, IBM, Adobe, and many more. With every major and emerging industry represented, businesses of all sizes come to launch products, build brands, and leverage the global spotlight.
Each year, the CES conference team handles all CES conference programming, including speaker management and content production, in conjunction with about two dozen conference partners. CES 2019 attracted 175,212 attendees and showcased 1,000+ speakers, delivering content in over 300 conference sessions. Clearly, the CES conference team has no time to lose—and Hubb helps make sure they don’t.

Innovation on demand
“Our conference program takes place across several venues at once, so our staff is always looking for systems that help manage our time effectively,” said the CTA Conferences Team. “We situate the program topics adjacent to those product categories represented on the show floor.” In addition to planning sessions for multiple venues, the conference team must create a program that highlights all of the new, innovative consumer technology trends relevant to CES’s immense and varied audience. The team also works hard to give attendees a wealth of options so they can fill their schedules with sessions specific to their roles and interests.
Appealing to CES’s broad base and engaging every individual with the right content is a huge balancing act. Hubb makes that content easier to produce and manage by centralizing all of the conference data. “We chose Hubb because we needed to give customized access to our various users: CTA staff, conference partners, speakers, and speaker representatives,” the team said. “Hubb offered the best option to securely build out those user types, and deliver the appropriate tasks and information more accurately.”
After reviewing different vendors and trying multiple demos, we chose Hubb for its ease of everything: intuitive user interface, highly responsive customer service, seamless integration, and simple customization.

No more flying emails
Hubb also allows the CES conference team and their partners to greatly streamline content management. The previous content management system only had admin privileges, so conference partners couldn’t directly oversee their own speakers and content—they had to contact the CES team and wait for updates.
Now the team efficiently collects all the speaker agreements, bios, headshots, etc. needed to book speakers into CTA-developed programs or one of two dozen conference partner programs. They can instantly track all assets for CES speakers, avoiding the countless back-and-forth emails previously required to manage speaker information.
The Hubb team is great, because they approach the relationship like a true partnership. They have the same passion for our event as our staff, and are like an extension of our team.

“Hubb is like an extension of our team”
Hubb’s visualizations and reports make scheduling simpler, too; they provide fast statistics on the CES conference program speakers, so the team can see at a glance who’s speaking and where. It saves a lot of time once spent manually counting and calculating data for speaker reports. Overall, using Hubb has saved the CES conference team several hours per week since they no longer need to manually input all 1,100 speakers into the conference website.
As the CES conference team prepares for 2020, Jaclyn appreciates the ongoing support from Hubb. “The Hubb team is great, because they approach the relationship like a true partnership,” they said. “They have the same passion for our event as our staff, and are like an extension of our team.”
